Polymarket says it will challenge France’s site-blocking decision

Enforcement & compliance

Polymarket said it intends to challenge the French gambling authority ANJ’s decision to block access to its website in France. The company said it stopped trading from France in November 2024 but had continued to let users view the site, and argued that its peer-to-peer blockchain markets differ from traditional betting.

The dispute concerns whether prediction-market access in France falls within gambling regulation and the scope of the ANJ’s blocking decision.
