AGCO requires licences for Ontario thoroughbred ownership entities

Licences & markets

Source: AGCO (Ontario)

Ontario’s AGCO requires stable names, estates and multiple-ownership entities that own a thoroughbred horse to hold a licence, after registration with the relevant breed registry. People holding or controlling at least 5% of an entity must also be licensed as owners, and applications and other horse-racing transactions must be submitted through iAGCO.

Ownership entities and qualifying stakeholders must meet AGCO licensing requirements to own thoroughbred horses in Ontario.
