AGA forecasts US$1.76bn in legal Super Bowl bets in the United States
The American Gaming Association forecast on 30 January that legal bets on the Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots would total US$1.76bn in the United States, about 27% more than a year earlier. AGA president and chief executive Bill Miller linked the projection to growth in regulated sports betting; a separate AGA study reported concerns about consumer understanding and responsible-gambling tools on prediction-market platforms.
The forecast and study findings bear on operators’ Super Bowl expectations and consumer-protection discussions around prediction markets.
