Acre governor vetoes lottery restrictions on fixed-odds betting and online games
Acre governor Gladson de Lima Cameli vetoed a provision that would have barred the state lottery from offering fixed-odds betting and electronic games. The partial veto concerns a 2025 bill and was published on 21 January; the state legislature will decide whether to uphold or overturn it. Cameli argued the restriction would weaken the lottery’s competitiveness, while the state finance department cited federal authority over lottery rules.
The legislature’s decision will determine whether Acre’s state lottery may offer fixed-odds betting and electronic games.
