Acre assigns lottery oversight and authorisations to state finance secretariat

Acre’s Law 4.822 assigns the State Secretariat of Finance responsibility for regulating, authorising and overseeing state lottery operations, according to the report. Governor Mailza Assis sanctioned the law, which also gives the secretariat authority to impose administrative sanctions for irregularities.

Lottery operators in Acre will face a single state authority for authorisations, oversight and administrative sanctions.

Brazil finance ministry publishes 2,000 pages on 85 betting authorisations

Brazil's Ministry of Finance has released more than 2,000 pages of technical documents behind the authorisations granted to 85 fixed-odds betting companies, published by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA). The ministry said further records will follow gradually after personal and confidential data is removed under the LGPD, with the CGU assisting the review. Minister Dario Durigan said the release shows the criteria used to assess applicants.
