Virginia House passes iGaming bill as chambers prepare to reconcile proposals

Regulation

Virginia’s House of Delegates passed House Bill 161 on 17 February, after a second vote, the report said. The House and Senate have each passed an iGaming proposal, but lawmakers must agree on a final version before online casinos can launch; the House measure sets a 20% tax on adjusted gross revenue and a 6% economic development fee.

Operators need a final bill before they can assess Virginia’s proposed licensing costs, tax terms and launch timetable.
