Virginia legislator proposes barring credit cards for sportsbook accounts

Regulation

Virginia delegate Marty Martinez introduced House Bill 515 to remove credit cards from permitted online sports betting account payment methods, according to reports. The bill is awaiting referral to a committee; if passed, it would prevent the Virginia Lottery from approving credit card deposits for online sports betting.

Operators may need to remove credit card deposits from Virginia sportsbook accounts if the proposal becomes law.
