UKGC requires removal of non-compliant gaming machines from premises
The UK Gambling Commission announced a new condition requiring non-compliant gaming machines to be removed from licensed premises from 29 July, according to a report dated 30 January. The requirement applies to issues involving manufacture, supply, installation, adaptation, maintenance or repair that fall outside a valid technical operating licence or other applicable standards. The change follows a January 2025 consultation on gaming machine technical standards.
Land-based operators will need to remove affected machines rather than leave them in place during remedial work.
