Three Canadian lotteries appeal Ontario player-pooling ruling to Supreme Court
Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation have appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada over Ontario’s player-pooling rules. The appeal challenges an Ontario Court of Appeal ruling that the province could connect players in peer-to-peer games with users in other jurisdictions; Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey is the respondent.
The appeal may determine whether Ontario-regulated peer-to-peer games can pool players across borders.
