STS says it presented gambling communication proposals at AGCOM hearing

STS said its president, Zamparelli, attended an AGCOM hearing on 5 June and submitted an additional note on gambling communications. The association raised concerns about online gambling promotion on social media and said it was the first representative body for land-based gaming retailers to hold a direct hearing with the authority.

The hearing gave land-based gaming retailers a direct opportunity to present their position on gambling communications to AGCOM.

AGCOM plans gambling communication guidance by August

AGCOM plans to publish guidance on commercial communication for Italy’s gambling sector by the end of August, Davide Gallino, the authority’s director of media services, said at iGB L!VE 2026. The guidance would explain how existing rules apply, particularly to digital communication and social media, rather than introduce new requirements. Gallino said the document was in the final approval stage and would go before AGCOM’s council.
