Spanish committee advances gambling rules on advertising, payments and providers

Regulation

A Spanish parliamentary committee approved a report on the draft Customer Services Act, which proposes new obligations for gambling operators and technology providers. Loyra Abogados said the proposals include prior consent for promotional messages, limits on bonus eligibility, segregated player-fund accounts in Spain and a provider register; some requirements would take effect when the law is published, with later rules also possible.

Operators and suppliers may face new marketing, payment, player-fund and registration requirements if the proposals become law.
