Spain requires online gambling operators to verify payment-account ownership within six months

Regulation

Spain’s government has introduced a requirement for online gambling operators to check that payment methods used for deposits and withdrawals belong to the player, according to a report on the decree. Operators must terminate contracts and notify the DGOJ if verification remains incomplete after six months.

Operators must update payment checks and systems while restricting withdrawals from unverified accounts during the transition period.
