Spain's Royal Decree 813/2026 requires payment ownership checks from 28 October
Spain's Royal Decree 813/2026 took effect on 28 October, requiring online gambling operators to check that payment methods for deposits and withdrawals belong to the account holder. Operators have until 28 April 2027 to adapt their systems; previously registered players may continue playing and depositing during the transition but cannot withdraw winnings until verification is complete. Gmonitor said it tracks operators' public registration processes and could extend monitoring to payment terms and ownership-check notices.
Operators must verify payment-method ownership while managing a six-month transition during which existing players cannot withdraw unverified winnings.
