Spain plans payment checks and €39.4m annual spending on gambling protections
Spain's Government told Congress that existing measures have not effectively prevented minors from accessing online gambling and announced plans to strengthen protections. The proposals include a bill amendment requiring account activation through payment methods held in the account holder's name, future loot-box legislation and an estimated €39.4m in annual prevention and research spending.
Operators may face payment-verification requirements if the proposed amendment becomes law.
