South Korea's Gambling Control Commission offers rewards for illegal betting tips

Enforcement & compliance

South Korea's Gambling Control Commission launched a reporting campaign running from 8 June to 31 July to identify websites facilitating illegal betting aimed at South Korean residents. It will pay KRW10,000 for reports that lead to a site being blocked, or KRW50,000 when a report includes the illegal operator's bank details, with rewards capped at KRW600,000 per claimant monthly.

Licensed operators may be asked to increase monitoring as authorities coordinate site blocking and investigations.
