Betsson is following prediction markets with interest but does not expect the US event-contract model to work in its main markets, CEO Pontus Lindwall said on the company's Q2 2026 investor call. He said that in most markets where Betsson is strong, prediction markets would fall under gaming regulation and differ little from normal sports betting.
Citizens Equity Research analyst Jordan Bender said prediction-market growth could benefit sports-betting data providers. He said Genius Sports could earn revenue beyond its 2028 targets if the NFL allows prediction-market companies to use league intellectual property; the company’s projections currently assume little or no revenue from the sector.
