São Paulo lottery starts online instant games under 15-year concession

Regulation

São Paulo’s state lottery, Dá Sorte, began offering instant games online on 1 July, with the government saying the operation remains in testing. The SP Loterias Consortium paid R$526 million for a 15-year concession, and required investment totals R$333 million. ARSESP questioned use of the “.bet” domain, saying betting is outside the concession and that the contract prohibits unauthorised game types.

Operators and suppliers face a regulator’s scrutiny of whether the lottery’s online games and domain comply with the concession.
