Enforcement & compliance1 min read

Italy’s State Police identified irregularities at a betting shop during checks in eastern Rome, according to a report. Police said the premises lacked a designated manager and employed an unauthorised worker; its licence holder was reported to authorities, and the shop received a €150 fine for operating gaming machines outside locally permitted hours.

State Police checks in eastern Rome ended with 10 arrests and three reports to the Prefecture for drug use, according to a report. The operation also resulted in several administrative penalties against local businesses.

At a betting shop, officers reportedly found that the designated manager was absent and that an unauthorised employee was present. This led to a complaint against the holder of the shop's police authorisation. The same premises received a €150 fine for running gaming machines outside the hours allowed by local rules.

The operation covered the districts of Tor Bella Monaca, Villaggio Falcone, Grotte Celoni and Ponte di Nona. Over 250 people were identified and 90 vehicles were checked. A minimarket was also fined €308 for failing to display its SCIA.
