Rome police chief orders 15-day closure of unlicensed gaming hall in private club

Enforcement & compliance · SectorWire deskSource published 1 min read

Rome's Questore ordered a 15-day suspension of food and drink service and the closure of a private club on viale degli Ammiragli after a joint check by the Polizia di Stato and the Polizia Locale di Roma Capitale found an unlicensed gaming hall inside it. The measure was issued under article 100 of the TULPS, notified and carried out by officers of the Commissariato di Polizia Borgo, which handled the administrative case.

The checks established that gaming hall activity was being run without the required authorisations and that food and drink were being served without the necessary permit. Administrative sanctions were issued. The club had already received a similar measure in March.

Officers identified 24 people during the check, including four minors. Four of the adults present were found with hashish totalling more than 10 grams and were reported to the judicial authorities and also referred to the Prefettura. Nine of those identified had police records for offences related to drugs, against the person and against property.

The Questore issued the suspension in light of the administrative irregularities and the public order and safety issues found. The source gives no statement from the club and no appeal status.
