Portugal extends casino concessions as five-casino tender stalls

Tenders & awards

Portugal’s government will extend the current casino concessions until the public tender process is complete, according to the reported account. The extensions will last only as long as necessary; bids for concessions covering five casinos were due by 31 December, while the tender for Algarve, Espinho and Póvoa de Varzim remains under way. The government has not specified the extension’s end date.

Current operators can continue running the five casinos while the government completes the concession tender.
