Lotería del Chubut invited bids to operate the Esquel casino and its adjoining venue, with offers due to open in Rawson on 19 November 2026 at 11:00. The tender requires the future concessionaire to reintegrate former employees progressively; reopening also depends on finding a property, as the previous site remains under attachment.
The Instituto de Asistencia Social (IAS), acting through Lotería del Chubut, has launched Public Tender No. 01-IAS/2026 for the administration and operation of the Esquel casino and its adjoining room. Bids are due to be opened on 19 November 2026 at 11:00 at the IAS headquarters, at the corner of Pedro Martínez and Rivadavia in Rawson.
The call was formalised by Resolution No. 0952-IAS/2026, which sets the participation conditions and the schedule for submitting bids. The tender documents are priced at AR$5m, or US$3,232. They can be consulted and bought at the IAS head office and at its branches in Esquel, Comodoro Rivadavia, Puerto Madryn and Trelew.
Trewelyn S.A. closed the previous casino on 25 March 2026, leaving about 50 workers out of a job. Articles 14 and 14 bis of the tender documents oblige the future concessionaire to take on the former employees progressively, in line with the establishment's operating needs. Awarding the concession does not mean the casino reopens immediately. A property is still needed, because the building that housed the previous casino remains under attachment by the workers in connection with their claims against the company.
