Summary
A More in Common and Ipsos-Ipec poll published by Folha de S.Paulo found that 70% of Brazilian voters said a candidate's position on restricting betting would not determine their electoral choice. Some 24% said backing restrictions would tend to favour a candidate, while 7% did not know. The survey also found 18% blamed the Lula government for the expansion of online betting, against 4% who blamed the Bolsonaro government.
Why it matters
The findings suggest that campaigning against betting platforms may not translate into electoral gains for candidates in Brazil.
