Police and ADM close unlicensed betting centre in Catania

Enforcement & compliance

Police and Sicily’s Customs and Monopolies Agency closed an unauthorised betting centre in Catania’s Picanello district, reportedly after finding sports bets routed through a foreign platform. The 33-year-old operator allegedly took bets at the counter, kept a commission and paid winnings; police referred him to judicial authorities, with the presumption of innocence applying.

The closure disrupts an unlicensed betting operation and signals enforcement against betting outside authorised channels.

Earlier fines and penalties by ADM and Polizia di Stato
