In brief

  • Carabinieri, ADM staff and municipal police carried out checks in Catania.
  • A gaming room operator was ordered to restore its premises within 30 days.
  • An employee without the required machine qualifications was reported to the Questura.

Carabinieri from the Piazza Dante Company carried out checks in Catania, Italy, assisted by staff of the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) and the Municipal Police. The inspections were concentrated in several locations in the city centre.

At a gaming room, the Carabinieri and ADM officials reportedly found substantial discrepancies from the terms of its operating licence. The operator was served with an order to restore the premises within 30 days. An employee present at the site did not have the qualifications required to manage gaming machines, and this led to an immediate report to the Questura.

Law enforcement is to continue its presence in the coming days.
