Norway sets out gambling-harm action plan without new rules

Regulation

Norway has presented an action plan on gambling problems, reportedly focusing on prevention, early detection and research rather than new legislation. The plan proposes closer cooperation with financial institutions on the existing payment ban involving illegal online casinos, research into digital gambling advertising and possible links between licensed-player data and health data, subject to privacy rules.

Operators and regulators face proposed research and coordination measures while the existing regulatory framework remains unchanged.
