GRAI sets out Irish gambling risk plan and proposed payment controls
Ireland’s Gambling Regulatory Authority is leading a national gambling risk assessment and a 30-point action plan, according to the report. The plan classifies remote bookmakers and private members’ clubs as significant money-laundering risks, and says clubs will be licensed. It also envisages industry standards for digital assets and closed-loop payments requiring withdrawals to the deposit account.
Operators may face licensing and payment-control requirements as Ireland addresses money-laundering risks.
