New South Wales commission extends Star Sydney licence suspension to September

Enforcement & compliance

The New South Wales Independent Casino Commission extended Star Sydney’s licence suspension and the special manager’s appointment to 30 September, after Star Entertainment said it was not seeking a licence determination at this time. Separately, Star said it secured US$390 million, equivalent to A$550 million, in refinancing from WhiteHawk Capital Partners; completion is subject to conditions, including regulatory approvals and the disposal of its interest in Destination Brisbane Consortium.

The extension keeps Star Sydney operating under a suspended licence while the company pursues remediation and refinancing.
