Nepal orders betting apps and websites blocked within 24 hours
Nepal’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology instructed the Nepal Telecommunications Authority to direct service providers to block betting apps and websites within 24 hours. An NTA spokesperson said the shutdown had begun, with at least 16 betting sites targeted; the agency was instructed to identify suspicious sites rather than act on a supplied list.
The order requires internet and mobile providers to block betting services across Nepal on a short timetable.
