Nepal orders betting apps and websites blocked nationwide
Nepal’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology directed the Nepal Telecommunications Authority to block online betting apps and websites, following a cabinet meeting on Friday. The authority said it had begun targeting at least 16 sites, while identifying platforms and URLs for blocking. The order does not cover land-based casinos.
Online betting operators and service providers face a government-directed blocking order, while land-based casinos remain outside its stated scope.
