Hungary removes SZTFH concession powers and orders file transfer within 30 days

Regulation

Hungary’s Act LIX of 2026, effective 1 October, removed the Supervisory Authority for Regulated Activities’ concession powers and ended its prior-consent role in concession procedures. The authority’s president must transfer concession files to the minister responsible for state assets within 30 days; SZTFH disputed aspects of the bill’s justification and described its former role.

The change reallocates oversight of gambling-related concession procedures and transfers associated records to the state-assets minister.
