mkodo appointed David da Silva as managing director, effective 16 April, replacing co-founder Stuart Godfree, who stepped down. The company said da Silva will lead its growth and product development, including its GeoLocs service, as Alberta prepares to launch its regulated market on 13 July.

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis has registered 35 operator sites at various approval stages ahead of the province’s planned 13 July online gambling launch, according to the report. Operators named include bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers, theScore Bet and Betway; the report also names technology and content suppliers preparing to serve the market.
Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis listed DAZN Bet as a registered operator on 29 May, according to the report. The province’s regulated commercial online gambling market is due to open on 13 July. DAZN Bet already holds an Ontario operator licence but had not yet begun taking bets there, and the company had not provided an update on its plans.
Alberta minister Dale Nally said the province has used Ontario and other jurisdictions as models for its regulated gambling market, while adapting them locally ahead of the anticipated 13 July launch. He said the market will include a self-exclusion programme from day one, a 1% operator-revenue tax to fund outpatient therapy and a 2% deduction for First Nations.
PowerPlay said it plans to enter Alberta ahead of the province’s 13 July regulated iGaming launch. The company said its entry remains subject to final regulatory approvals and completion of commercial onboarding requirements.
EveryMatrix says it has obtained a licence from Alberta’s Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission ahead of the province’s iGaming market launch. The company says it plans to offer its technology, in-house games from Fantasma Games and aggregated third-party content; the report states that the market rollout is expected in July.
