Meier asks Chilean Comptroller to halt Dreams casino opening in Talca
Corporación Meier has asked Chile's Comptroller General to reverse its decision not to review alleged irregularities in the award of the Talca casino licence to Dreams. The company also wants the regulator, the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ), barred from issuing the certificate needed to start operations until an audit examines the project's financing. Meier's filing says the SCJ did not reassess the source or sufficiency of more than CLP10,000m in additional funding.
The request challenges whether Dreams can begin operating in Talca before the disputed financing is audited.
