Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance reported €3.07bn in total gaming-related tax revenue for January to May 2026. The figure was €256m lower than a year earlier, a decline of 7.7%; indirect tax revenue from gaming was €2.583bn, down 9.9%.
The figures give operators and investors a measure of gaming tax receipts and their year-on-year movement in Italy.

Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service reported BRL5.89 billion in tax revenue from sports betting and online gaming between January and May 2026. Collections rose almost 86% from BRL3.17 billion in the same period of 2025, according to figures presented by tax auditors at a briefing attended by Revenue Secretary Robinson Barreirinhas.
Macau’s Financial Services Bureau figures showed gaming tax collections of MOP42.52bn from January through May, up 21.9% year on year. May collections exceeded MOP7.65bn, down 15.7% from April’s MOP9.07bn; the government said tax receipts and casino gross gaming revenue are not directly comparable because payment timing can differ.

Brightstar Lottery said its subsidiary Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation signed a five-year extension with the Oregon Lottery, running through 23 May 2031. The agreement covers central-system upgrades, 2,200 SignaLink digital-signage units and 1,000 Retailer Pro S2 terminals. The Oregon Lottery said the work will upgrade its technology and retailer equipment.
The UK gambling industry is facing tighter taxation and stricter regulatory requirements, reported by Sector del Juego. The budget approved last year raised online casino profit tax from 21% to 40%, while remote sports betting faces a tax rise from 15% to 25% from April 2027. The UK Gambling Commission is also introducing financial risk assessments, and operators warn the combined burden could drive some players to unlicensed platforms.
