Brazil reports BRL5.89 billion in betting tax revenue through May

Regulation

Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service reported BRL5.89 billion in tax revenue from sports betting and online gaming between January and May 2026. Collections rose almost 86% from BRL3.17 billion in the same period of 2025, according to figures presented by tax auditors at a briefing attended by Revenue Secretary Robinson Barreirinhas.

The tax figures indicate the scale of regulated betting revenue and inform policy discussions on Brazil’s licensed and unlicensed markets.
