Macau records MOP42.52bn in gaming taxes through May

Regulation

Macau’s Financial Services Bureau figures showed gaming tax collections of MOP42.52bn from January through May, up 21.9% year on year. May collections exceeded MOP7.65bn, down 15.7% from April’s MOP9.07bn; the government said tax receipts and casino gross gaming revenue are not directly comparable because payment timing can differ.

The figures show gaming taxes’ contribution to Macau’s public revenue and the gap against the government’s annual collection forecast.
