Lotteritilsynet blocks 236 gambling websites in Norway

Enforcement & compliance

Norway’s Lotteritilsynet has blocked 236 gambling websites since DNS blocking began under the updated Gambling Act, according to correspondence with the Ministry of Culture dated 12 June. The latest blocking order was issued in February 2026, while some blocked services have continued through alternative domains or mirror sites.

Operators targeting Norway may face domain blocking, although the reported use of alternative sites shows access can persist.
