KSA tightens applicant checks after fake lottery licence fraud

Enforcement & compliance

The Netherlands Gaming Authority (KSA) said a fraudster obtained a lottery licence by impersonating Quick Boys’ chairman. The football club was not involved, and the licence was used to create websites that the KSA said did not belong to it. The regulator said it had strengthened checks on applicant identities and domain names, and reported the incident to police.

Operators and consumers face increased fraud risks when scammers misuse a gambling licence and a club’s identity.
