CazéTV denies unlawful betting advertising in Brazil investigation

Regulation

CazéTV told Brazil’s Ministry of Justice on 6 July that sports commentary on betting probabilities does not amount to gambling advertising, responding to a Senacon investigation into betting promotions during World Cup broadcasts. The channel denied wrongdoing and said its advertisements included identification, responsible-gambling warnings and age restrictions; a separate Finance Ministry inquiry concerns an advertisement that an official described as misleading.

The investigations may clarify how Brazilian authorities treat betting promotions and commentary on betting probabilities.
