Casablanca appeals court suspends telecom order to block offshore betting sites
Casablanca’s Court of Appeal suspended enforcement of an order requiring Maroc Telecom, Orange Maroc and Inwi to block offshore betting sites. The earlier Commercial Court order carried daily fines of 10,000 dirhams for non-compliance; those fines and the blocking requirement are on hold while the case continues.
The suspension removes telecom operators’ immediate blocking obligation and daily fines while the court case proceeds.
