Brightstar Lottery announced that the Illinois Lottery has launched Cash Pop, a draw game patented by Brightstar. The launch was announced on 27 October 2026, according to the company.
Cash Pop has hourly draws and allows stakes of $1, $2, $5 and $10. The Illinois Lottery is operated by Allwyn Illinois LLC.
Harold Mays, director of the Illinois Lottery, said the addition of Cash Pop to the lottery's portfolio offers new ways to play. Mays said the game had seen success at many other lotteries and that the Illinois Lottery was pleased to add it to its draw game offering.
Scott Gunn, Chief Operating Officer North America at Brightstar, said the company was working with the Illinois Lottery to widen distribution of its proprietary Cash Pop game and reach a new audience of players. Gunn said Brightstar was helping to support the Illinois Lottery's growth and the funding of its public education programmes from kindergarten through the end of secondary school (K-12).
According to the announcement, Cash Pop lets players choose their stakes and create a personalised experience with each play, a feature the company said has drawn high player engagement in markets where the game is available.
