Brightstar Lottery extends multi-year technology contract with ONCE in Spain

Brightstar Lottery said its subsidiary Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation signed a multi-year extension of its contract with ONCE in Spain. The company said the agreement continues software support and improvements for ONCE's lottery operations, which Brightstar has supplied since 2002.

Brightstar Lottery said it provides technology exclusively to the lottery sector, covering retail and digital channels and lottery games. The company said it serves about 90 lottery entities and their players, and that it is the main technology provider to 26 of the 46 lottery jurisdictions in the United States and to eight of the 10 largest lotteries in the world that use central systems.

Virginia Castellano, ONCE's deputy director general of organisation, talent and resources, said: "Para la ONCE es un placer ampliar su larga y exitosa relación con Brightstar". She added that Brightstar was the right partner to help ONCE keep developing its lottery operations and to reinforce its commitment to a safe, responsible lottery with a social purpose, which she said funds programmes and services for people with severe visual impairment and other disabilities in Spain.

Marco Tasso, executive vice-president of Brightstar and chief operating officer of its Global Lottery division, said ONCE is recognised worldwide for its commitment to improving the social and professional inclusion of people with disabilities, and that Brightstar was honoured to serve its lottery operations in support of that work. He said Brightstar looked forward to continuing to provide ONCE with technology solutions for its lottery system.
