Brazilian Senate committee schedules vote on bill raising taxes on betting companies
Brazil’s Senate Economic Affairs Committee scheduled a vote for 2 December on bill PL 5.473/2025, which would raise the contribution rate for betting companies and introduce a tax regularisation programme for low-income individuals. The committee’s rapporteur, Senator Eduardo Braga, presented supplementary remarks on 26 November, after which members were granted time to review the text. If approved, the bill would go to the Chamber of Deputies unless referred to the Senate floor.
The proposed tax increase could change betting companies’ contribution obligations in Brazil.
