Brazilian law permits unlicensed betting brands to sponsor 2027 Women’s World Cup

Regulation

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sanctioned the General Law for the 2027 Women’s World Cup on 2 June, according to the report. The law allows unlicensed betting brands to sponsor the tournament but bars them from offering bets to people in Brazil; the Ministry of Finance must issue rules for authorisation requests within 90 days of publication.

The law sets separate conditions for tournament sponsorship and offering bets in Brazil.
