Brazilian Congress receives 97 amendments to betting prohibition measure

Regulation

Brazil’s National Congress received 97 amendments to Provisional Measure 1.394/2026, which would prohibit fixed-odds betting and online casinos, the report said. Five amendments were withdrawn, leaving 92 for a mixed committee that had not yet been constituted. The proposals include alternatives to the prohibition, and the measure was due to remain in force until 23 November, with a possible 60-day extension.

The amendments could change whether licensed betting and online casino activity can continue in Brazil.
