Lula reiterates support for ending online betting in Brazil

Regulation

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva reiterated his support for ending online betting in a letter to evangelical families published on 14 October. He linked action against betting to protecting families. Provisional Measure 1.394/2026, which prohibits fixed-odds betting activities and advertising, is in force but remains subject to congressional review; 97 amendments have been submitted.
