Brazilian authorities order blocks on 2,387 illegal betting domains

Enforcement & compliance

Brazil's Ministry of Justice said on 29 September that Anatel had ordered the blocking of 2,387 of 5,209 betting domains targeted by the government. The ministry did not report how many had actually been blocked, while the ANJL said its monitoring found 894 new illegal sites on 28 September and an average of 914 a day over the preceding seven days.

The gap between blocking orders and confirmed removals leaves operators and regulators without a reported measure of enforcement results.
