Brazil delays vote on 15% gambling deposit tax until 2026

Regulation

Brazilian lawmakers postponed a vote on the Antifaction Bill until 2026, after the Senate approved it the previous week. The bill would impose a 15% tax on deposits at licensed platforms, with estimated annual revenue of BRL30 billion directed to the National Public Security Fund. Workers’ Party leader Lindbergh Farias said the issue needed more debate.

The delay leaves operators facing uncertainty over a proposed tax on deposits and retrospective taxation.
