Brazil bars Desenrola beneficiaries from authorised online betting for 12 months
Brazil’s government will block participants in the Novo Desenrola Brasil debt-renegotiation programme from using authorised online betting sites for 12 months, according to the report. Finance Minister Dario Durigan said online betting can reduce household income but is not the sole or main cause of debt. The restriction applies to 84 regularised companies, the report said.
Operators in Brazil’s regulated market face a 12-month access block for customers who join the debt-relief programme.
