Brazil’s SPA sets betting restrictions for Novo Desenrola beneficiaries
Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) issued rules requiring fixed-odds betting operators to block qualifying Novo Desenrola Brasil beneficiaries, according to a Finance Ministry report. Operators have up to 10 days to implement checks, which must run at registration, first access and periodically; the restriction lasts 12 months from the new credit agreement. Before suspending an account, operators must notify the user within one day and return remaining funds within two days.
Operators must establish recurring eligibility checks and follow specified notice, account-suspension and fund-return procedures.
