As.Tro-GADS seeks ADM meeting on certification timetable concerns

Italy's As.Tro-GADS section met on 14 October to examine the new certification framework set out in an ADM directive of 13 October, which postponed the start of production for concessionaires' new systems to 15 February 2027. The section said it welcomed the revised timetable and that some issues and structural problems remain unresolved. It has decided to send ADM a note with clarification requests and a request for a meeting.
The meeting was convened to review the framework the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli set out for the certification process of concessionaires' systems and to assess the association's next initiatives in light of the changes. Reportedly, the ADM directive redefines the path through a series of progressive deadlines. The section said the rescheduling takes account of operational and procedural difficulties that emerged in recent months and the complexity of adapting to the new technical rules, and that it allows operators to approach the move to production more sustainably.
The section said members had already developed possible proposals on the open points, with the aim of contributing to a more efficient and sustainable model while keeping the necessary safeguards for security, control and responsibility unchanged. It said the meeting with ADM would be an opportunity to discuss the open questions directly with the administration and to present the proposals drawn up in the section's work. The section said it will continue monitoring the implementation of the stages of the new timetable and the progress of the discussion with ADM.
